Default Questions on 2006 IS250

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a 2006 IS250 AWD with 46,000ish miles. Is this too early for excessive carbon buildup to start happening? What would be the best things to do in order to limit carbon buildup? Thanks.

I'd suggest you start searching the forum as this is a very common topic. There is a virtual treasure trove of information here.

Agreed with the previous post- just search, tons and tons of info on carbon buildup. I also own a recently purchased 2006 IS250 with 110k miles on it- mine was repaired under warranty for the previous owner, by Lexus, for carbon buildup problems at 75k miles or so.

I'd be more worried about the extremely low mileage. That's a 17 year old car with 46k miles on it, which means it was driven 2-3k miles per year on average, or it wsa driven more and then just sat around untouched for a while. Take a close look for rust, dry rot, worn out seals and gaskets, old fluids, and other age-related issues that can pop up if a car is infrequently driven.

On the other hand, it might be a time capsule that will give you many years of trouble free service. Tough to tell!
