Autel MaxiAP200, key registration
Greetings everyone,
I'm considering using the Autel MaxiAP200 to register an Unlocked/Virgin OEM Lexus IS key. I've heard that some people have done this using TechStream. I'm curious if anyone has experience using Autel for this purpose?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,

It looks like that device allows you one "diagnosis" free and then it's a yearly subscription. The knock off techstream units on amazon work fine for key registration and other settings/codes etc and they are cheap. If you are comfortable with computers you will have no problems installing, people say that they are full of viruses which is kind of true because they are hacked software and that's recognized by virus protection software.

I didn't know you already had the device, if key registration is in its menu then it probably will work. It's a very simple process to register a virgin key.

I have been using Autel MaxiAP200 for two years for multiple cars of mine. It works great for Toyota and Lexus. I did not need it to register a key. I recently got IS 350c with one key. I will try key registration tool and let you know. Virgin key should arrive on Monday.

Agreed. I have no intention to use TS. I have Autel MaxiAP200 OBD tool and I will use it to register the key. The key is expected to arrive on Monday. I will update you all. Have a wonderful weekend,

Greetings,
Received the unlocked OEM key today. I successfully registered it using the Auto MaxiAP200, and it worked flawlessly. It's still hard to believe that a $50 OBD tool can accomplish this. I wholeheartedly endorse this tool if you are DIY.

Interesting finding. I have access to the Techstream, but using a bluetooth OBD2 tool is usually more convenient. Share a link if you do end up making a video showing how this works on the Autel tool.
