Default Manual Transmission Oil?

My IS 250 from 2005 now has ~137000km / ~85500 miles. Since it has a poor service history, I think that the transmission oil was checked at most once. Now I'm giving the car the love it deserves.

I have seen 2 viscosities which are suitable for the M/T 75W-90 and 75W-140. Which oil do you use and would you recommend?

Thanks!

The manual specifies SAE75W-90 GL-5 gear oil for a manual transmission.

Even better if you can find a Toyota genuine gear oil (part number 08885-02106).

OP be careful as not all GL-5's are equal. Some will harm the synchros. Make sure the oil used is backwards compatible with GL-4.

Thanks for the tips and information. I think i will do the save route and use the Toyota Oil.
still have to do the diff., which will be serviced when I fit new rear wheel bearings. Right rear is already making noises :/
I Thought about welding the Diff but then i remembered its not a BMW^^
