Hello,
I have an 07 Is250. My question is can I swap an American transmission with a Japanese one. I have put 1 used transmission that was Japanese and it won't shift passed 3rd. I got another one waiting to be put in this week. Am I going to run into the same issue or did I just get a bad used transmissions the first time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What Japanese car model/transmission did you first put in?
what’s the transmission model/car model of the American one you’re going to put in?
are you doing the labor yourself entirely?

To my knowledge all 2IS are made in Japan using Asin Warner transmissions. 250 RWD have an A960, AWD get the beefier A760 which 350s come with RWD.
We have a lot of questions if you DIY. The basics are proper installation of the TC and setting the oil level correctly. If either are done wrong, the trans is toast.
