Interested if a member has replaced the IS350 rear pinion & differential bushings with polyurethane bushings. If so, what brand was used, how was fitment of the bushings, and was there a noticeable increase in NVH (Noise, vibration & hardness) experienced / felt?
Have come across the following with regard to replacing the rear pinion & differential bushings in vehicles other than the IS 350;
Available differential bushing kits located thus far;
SuperPro spf4857-90k Rear Differential to Subframe Mount Bushings (2008 - 2014 Lexus IS F)
SuperPro spf4857k Rear Differential to Subframe Mount Bushing
SuperPro SPF2769K - Rear Differential Pinion mount Bushing
STRONGFLEX Bushing (Kit Includes: Grease / 211867A x 1 rear diff mount / 211866A x 1 rear diff mount / 211865A x 2 front diff mount)
StrongFlex Red (80 ShA) – are similar in hardness to the original rubber and metal-rubber bushes. However, the strength of the polyurethane is many times greater and the unique properties ensure long lasting comfort.
StrongFlex Yellow (90 ShA) – is harder and stiffer. It is, mostly recommended for racing and highly tuned vehicles where high speed stability is important https://strongflex.us/v-92-96-x90/96...553523843.html
I have both of these sets from RR Racing to replace my well-worn OE ones. When will I find the time though.
Were the SuperPro Rear Differential Pinion Mount Bushing Kit SPRSPF2769K, you installed the 90K durometer or regular? If 90K, was there a noticeable increase in NVH?
Concerned with having the replacement bushings fitting like OEM and installed as OEM, as well as severe NVH.
Was told If the original rubber bushings are still in OK condition, use SuperPro KIT SPF2769K. If bushings are in very worn condition, would need to install both of the following SuperPro kits (see photos at the very bottom).
Appears the FIGS differential bushings gave 2013FSport some installation issues, but unsure of the part number used; FSport's IS-350 running list of service & maintenance DIY -Reply #372 https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...l#post11321515
FSport's IS-350 running list of service & maintenance DIY - Reply #379 As some of you may have noticed, the OEM rear bushings (3 bolts total) have a flange that locates the fore/aft position of the rear diff. The Poly figs bushings have no such flange to set the depth which would be fine EXCEPT the two pinion area hanger bolts are FLOATING IN SLOTS! Now that everything is in place, I cursed @FIGS for not putting flange on the poly bushings as the driveline can move nearly 30mm at the carrier bearing and the diff can move for/aft 20 mm, which means if things are tightened in the wrong place, either the flex coupler at the 350's pinion is strained and/or the carrier bearing rubber is strained. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/bui...ce-diy-26.html
The following FIGS-SuperPro produced kit (Product Code:G1021)seems it may install the same as IS 350 OEM bushings; https://shopfigs.com/v5/G1021
SuperPro SPF4857K - Standard (not 90K) for street car type use (If your car was NA and only had one bushing, this set will give you the 2nd bushing you are missing. (Lexus IS F 2008 thru 2013 / Lexus IS250 2006 thru 2013 / Lexus IS350 2006 thru 2012)
Superpro SPF2769K - Rear Differential Pinion Mount Bushing Kit - If your original rubber bushings are still in OK condition, just install these.
Interested in replacing the existing drive shaft center support bearing as well, with OEM part 37230-30181 or SKF part HB281020. unable to locate a part number for TIMKEN.
Would there be a write up or video tutorial available showing the process of removing / installing the drive shaft center support bearing/
Search located the following, but procedure not outlined;
Don't worry about NVH, it's not an issue regardless of durometer. Red has solid spacers IIRC.
The figs rear bushings weren't ideal as the 350 has a pilot stub that enters the driveshaft and it must be aligned well which brings up my complaint of the rear mount not having a flange to locate anything. Once installed, it is fine...

Thank you 2013FSport!
To confirm, no issues regarding NVH / fitment issues with the STRONGFLEX Red kit (SPF2769), and a total of 4 bushings / mounts are needed, correct?
STRONGFLEX Bushing (Kit Includes: Grease / 211867A x 1 rear diff mount / 211866A x 1 rear diff mount / 211865A x 2 front diff mount) StrongFlex Red (80 ShA) – are similar in hardness to the original rubber and metal-rubber bushes.
Has anyone had the Drive Shaft Center Support Bearing replaced as well? Thinking of replacing this along with the rear differential mount / pinion mounts (G1021 SuperPro and FIGS bushing kit).
OEM Part 37230-30181 - drive shaft center support bearing (06-13 IS350 / 08-14 IS F / RC F) OEM Part 37230-39095 - Drive Shaft Center Support Bearing, Bearing Assembly; 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013 IS350
What manufacturer did you use / install for the Front differential bushing / mounts (referenced by Yellow arrows) and Rear differential bushings / mounts (referenced by Black arrows)
If you have an air hammer/chisel it was about 5min each and dirt to the face. Once broken free, they pry out.
I'd guess one could mount the subframe solid and still find NVH acceptable. Maybe not in conjunction with solid diff mounts but it would stiffen the body substantially.
I love my solid mounts. Makes the car a different animal.
FWIW if you have to do it again like to install an OS-Giken LSD (game changer for handling), lower the diff, pop an axle (I grabbed it with a bearing puller), turn the diff as far as it goes to clear the splines and zero suspension disassembly. None. Just two braces and the exhaust.
