Default Smoke and fuel trims

My 2008 IS300 is burning oil. At high rpms grey smoke can be seen from the exhaust. I can also see that my LTFT on both banks are around -15. Are both these issues related.

In the later years they revised the piston and rings to have more tension and changed the oil scrapper rings... Oil burners usually emit blue smoke. Grey clouds are soot from opening it up blowing the cobwebs out of the cats. Black is unburned fuel often from WOT where it kicks out of closed loop mode and fuels at 12.1:1 vs 14.7:1 closed loop.

Try a couple of bottles / tanks of Yamaha Ring Free. Followed by an oil change. Ideal situation is a road trip consuming all fuel at once.

Wait IS-300? What engine?

It's 3GR-FE. How am I getting negative trims on both banks. Does that mean all rings have gone bad. Sometimes I am seeing a reading of -20.31 LTFT on both banks.
I have liquimoly cat cleaner in my tank now.
I have purchased a bottle of rislone compression repair but seeing how thick it is I am hesitant to use it. Have you guys tried this product.
During the last oil change I tried bg 109 EPR but that didn't work for me. I will try to get my hands on Yamaha ring free.

Start with the basics. Un-metered air or an air leak allowing air in. I doubt cleaning the MAF fixes a trim like that, but inspecting it for oil or build up of some kind and cleaning it is a good step.

Has the intake been off recently? Trims like that could be part of your oil loss too along with bad mpg....

If you have no history, buy some new plugs and pull the intake looking for carbon build up... search for DI carbon build up, walnut blasting.

I'm fairly certain that the 3GR-FE in the 2008 IS300, a car only sold in markets where fuel quality at that time was an issue, used port injection only.

MAF while idle hovers between 2.98 and 3.04 g/s. I had cleaned it a few months ago. I will check it again tomorrow.
Can a leaky injector cause this issue. I am planning to get them cleaned. With port injection is there really a chance for carbon buildup.

Does your 3GR-FSE have port injection? From what we have around here, they do not. DI only. No PI.

Aside from a poor spray pattern, I'm not sure anyone here has had them leak but it would be a source for negative trims. How many miles?
Is the MAF sensor a Denso part?
Have upstream o2 sensors ever been changed?
No codes, pending codes?

Engine is 3GR-FE not FSE.

3GR-FE (3.0 EFI DVVT) - longitudinal layout, multipoint injection. Installed in: Crown 180..200 CHN, GS 190, IS 20, Reiz 120..130

138K miles
MAF is denso.
I am not the first owner. I don't think the sensors have been changed.
There are no codes or pending codes.

MAF is reading 0.5 g/s when engine is off. Is this acceptable.

I've never looked w engine off. At a glance it sounds bad and is highly suspect. My opinion is it should be zero.

Hey I tried replacing the MAF with another one. The engine off reading is still 0.5.
