Car jerking when stopping and in cruise control
Hello,
I have a 2006 Lexus IS 250 with 223k miles. Since I’ve gotten the car, it’s driven fine until a few months ago when it started jerking when coming to a complete stop. Decelerating the car is not an issue, but when it is about to reach a full stop, the entire car jerks like it’s being hit. Over the past few months, we’ve nearly complete rebuilt the car. We’ve replaced the transmission, a solenoid sensor, changed the tires and brakes, and much more. However, even after replacing the transmission, the issue persists. To add onto this, when I was driving it today, I put it on cruise control around 60-80 MPH. When it started to speed up to maintain the speed entered, it began jerking. The jerking would happen every few miles driven, so I refrained from using cruise control. One of my family members thinks that an incorrect O-ring could be causing the issue, but I am open to hearing what the issue could be?

It might be the crankshaft speed sensor. That sounds like what happened to my truck a month or so ago. Once the sensor was replaced no more problems.

My car did this. It was because my pcv valve was completely blocked off. Just my anecdote
