Hey guys, 2008 Lexus is250 here, 200xxxkm. A few months back I was getting emission system codes so I checked my engine bay and found what I suspected was the culprit: a rat had chewed the wire to my vacuum relief solenoid valve. I replaced the wire to it, and the code went away.
A couple days later the vsc and check engine light popped back on, I checked the codes and it reads
P0172 System too rich bank 1
P0175 system too rich bank 2
After googling I see the most common cause is a faulty MAF. But I’m suspicious this is linked to the solenoid that I fixed as it happened only a few days later. Another thought I had was could a vacuum leak cause these codes if the rat chewed a hose somewhere? Smoke test?
Not really sure where to go from here as it seems I could just start replacing sensors at a whim without really knowing which direction to go first. Any thoughts appreciated
Thanks
