Is the 2009 IS Nav Unit the same as the 2006-2008 Nav Unit?

Is the 2009 IS Nav Unit the same as the 2006-2008 Nav Unit?
I'm thinking about switching out my 2006 Nav face with the 2009, but I don't know if the face (the thing with all the buttons) is compatible. Any know if I can just take the 2009 face and put it on the 2006 one?
