Failure in my audio system

I have recently bought my 2006 lexus is350 with ML system and I have a problem with the system if I turn up the level of the subwoofer on the screen the audio does not turn off the screen but stops emitting sound and if I turn up the volume too much the sound stops coming out and starts to release only parts of the song as if it were cutting the whole signal I wonder if I will have to do some maintenance to the ML amp or if it is a failure in the subwoofer or a failure in the speakers.
