Android auto head unit causing glitches
Ok so a little about the vehicle, I just picked it up used from a guy who got it as a junkyard surrender, he tells me that the guy surrendered it because he didn't know how to fix it but it turned out it was just a bad ground somewhere. Whether or not he's telling the truth who knows, anyway, I knew the vehicle would need TLC as it hadn't been driven much (75k miles for an 06) so I wasn't really too worried as long as there wasn't frame damage or significant engine/trans problems.
One of the things he did "fix" was the head unit. He said the old one (OEM) screen flickered so he got this off eBay or something. However he also tells me that the head unit is the reason the TPMS sensor light won't go off, (I'll get it checked later at discount tire).
Today while doing some semi routine maintenance I changed the cabin air filter and noticed that on the instructions it says to put the car in recirc mode for the climate control so that you can access the air filter. However when I select recirc or outside air nothing changes. I was able to change the filter which tells me that the car is stuck on recirc mode. I'm thinking since the climate controls are also controlled by that head unit it has something to do with it.
Does anyone have any experience with something like this?
