Finding Materials to do an EVA Foam Dash Board Repair
When the weather starts to cool I'm going to attempt an EVA foam dash board repair for the sticky/cracked dash board issue.
I noticed a lot of people here wanting the Lexus warranty dashboard repair. Forget about it. The new dash will fail just like the old one did.
We need an actual cost effective solution for depreciated vehicles.
Right now I'm collecting the materials. I already have the EVA foam clay. It can be readily found on Ebay.
Here's a link describing why EVA is good for the dashboard.

I'm thinking I will use a leather roller for the application of the clay. There will be no texture but I believe this is acceptable given the low reflectivity of EVA foam.
The forms might be some kind of professional wax paper but I still have yet to identify this.
Think of the forms as being like the forms that hold concrete when pouring a sidewalk.
I'm at a loss here but I know it needs to be thin enough to fit into the seams between the dash and the vents.
With good contours we don't even need to cover the whole dash. Just the parts that are damaged.

I have expertise in the electrical engineering stuff but when it comes to materials my guess is as good as anyone else's.
I was sort of hoping that the guys who lay EVA foam for the boat decks could chime in.
Or maybe even the guys with material science degrees could come in and talk about stuff.
Or maybe the guys who make EVA foam floor mats will go "Hey, we shoulda thought of that!"
Certainly somebody out there knows something I don't.
Humanity may cure cancer before they cure dashboards.
