Default just something i noticed about the new IS

Hey guys,

I just saw the pics of the new IS, and thought that it is pretty hot as well. However, one thing i noticed in the front is that, with no disrespect to Hondas, does the front bumper/headlight/grill remind you alot like the Civic?

I dont know, just something that came to mind.

Gary.

dunno, after seeing all the "looks like this, looks like that" wars, i am kinda tired of this whole thing. to me, as long as the car looks nice, who the hell cares?

Yeah, it's getting really old, looks like a civic, mazda, 5 series etc . . . Cars are getting to look like each other more & more anyways

Looks good to me, like the interior, but I will not buy it until I am sure the 350 has more than 300 horse!!

I really, REALLY, like this new design a lot. The back looks wicked! I'm glad they got rid of the clear taillights.

Honda couldn't design something that taunt and detailed if they had IBM's BlueGene/L - at 70.72 teraflops the supercomputer from IBM or whatever

ts out of control. I'll start with Lexus. Lexus gets dogged for no styling bravado. Many times, the people that knock it have brands even blander. Lexus initiates L-Finesse, brings 3 concepts, LF-S, LF-C and LF-A. Did you see many concepts from other luxury car makers? Let alone 3? Well we finally have the GS and IS pics and its out of CONTROL how people are saying they look like this and that, blah blah blah. Its silly. And half of it are by people who just want to knock Lexus and just read what someone else says (it looks like a Mazda) and then, "it does look like a Mazda". Outside of Biker and Richie, NONE OF US have seen it in person!!

Now, for a car to resemble one other car, that is obvious. Like the 300C does resemble a Bentley Arange. That is obvious and to dispute is pretty silly. But its now out of control, with the IS its ridiculous
"It looks like a Mazda"
"it looks like an Acura"
"It looks like a Civic"
"It looks like a 5 without creases"

So I am looking at the car in the pics like others, and I'm like "What the hell are people looking at"? To me, it looks like what Lexus said it was, another product of L-finesse. IT doesn't even look like a baby GS to me. It just is the interpretation of the IS through L-finesse.

Its okay to state things that have a valid point. The LS 430 share some old S-class styling clues for instance. But now, people have NOTHING else to pick on about Lexus.

So many complained about the styling, you got styling, now its overly styled.

And we are not picking on you, its just we are getting tired of eveyrone saying something looks like this and that. Its out of control.

Shouldn't it be no disrespect to Lexus's? A Civic should feel damn lucky to even be confused with the IS.

With the GS 20 ft feet away one can see the family resemblance but other than that it's all a very subjective call. The only thing that should matter is wheather you like it or not. If anyone is buying a car and is influenced by what other people think the car looks like, they have other issues.

You gotta have paddle shifters to satisfy the SMG wannabes - it's also safer to have both hands on the steering wheel.

I'd rather have the "real" manual shifter thing, especially on IS350!
