very nice info. some initial thoughts
1) so it's only 204hp, that's pretty weark imho.
2) but man, 2.5L and it's pushing 250tq, that's a lot!
3) very high compression out of the engine!
4) it has stb to begin with, nice
5) i like the tire option of 205 and 245
6) man, mid 8 for 0-60, am i sweating.....
ok, and base on this, i guess i would hope to see (for is350)
1) 280hp at least
2) 300tq
3) even more aggressive tire setup
4) mid 5 0-60

I guess the show car in Geneva had Option 3 for tires but I could have sworn they were 225/40/18 all the way around.
The 250 tq is in Nm not ft-lbs.
The weight is the most disappointing number: over 3400lbs - no wonder the 0-100 is that slow and milage is not that great (around 25mpg combined). The number for the E90 BMW325 is under 3300lbs and 0-100 is 7.0s. That's from the same 6 cyl displacement of 2.5l putting out a few more HP (215) and the same tq. The milage for the BMW is also better (combined is around 28MPG). All of the above for the 6MT.
The often bragged about number in Europe for top speed is also only 220 for the IS vs. 245 for the 325.
And for the tree huggers, the BMW engine puts out less CO2 than the Lexus.
I hope the numbers for the US spec car improve upon these numbers.

I have a feeling that the 8.4s 0-100 for the IS is a pessimistic estimate. I don't see how 6MT vs. 6MT could be 1.4s apart between the two with virtually the same power and maybe 100lbs weight diff.

Lexus has always been discrete about official acceleration numbers. We'll have to wait for the real life test results. 6mt is250 has to surely be sub 8 sec range 0-100kmh. Those are preliminary specs anyway. 325 weight number is standard spec car - no navigation, no electrical seats, no electrical wheel, maybe even with small or no spare tire, it adds easily up to 100lbs.

i think what lexus gonna do is (guessing) they gonna upgrade the engine or making sure that the is250 will push more hp in the US, caz euro always gets lower model for some reason than in the state. like the is200 which never got here or any benz or bmw such as the 318 or c200 or the 725 and 735 never made it here either. i think lexus gonna put there higher hp car in the US which should be 240ish to match w/ the is350. caz the price diffs b/w the is250 and is350 shouldnt be greater than 4k, and to be able to get vdim and 300hp for 4k more would be silly. 1

Current IS Dimensions
Body type: Five-passenger sport sedan
Construction: Welded-steel unibody
Overall length: 176.6 in
Overall width: 67.9 in
Overall height: 55.5 in
Wheelbase: 105.1 in
Weight distribution (front/rear): 54%/46%
Curb weight: 3,285 lb
Fuel-tank capacity: 17.5 gallons
Trunk capacity: 10.1 cubic feet
Headroom (front/rear): 39.1/37.7 in (37.8/37.3 in with available moonroof)
Legroom (front/rear): 42.7/30.2 in
Shoulder room (front/rear): 52.6/53.5 in
The 2IS grew 3 inches in width and with the all new interior and new technology, i can see where the weight gain went.

Combined fuel consumption for IS250 AT = 9.9l/100km = 23.76mpg, which is even worse than the new GS300's 22/30mpg (25.6mpg combined)!?? ![Uhh...](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/1387914497.gif)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a smaller displacement in the same series engine usually mean better gas mileage? Given that the GS300 and IS250 both get the 6-speed AT, both are rated at 0.27Cd of drag coefficient and the GS300 weighs more, can anyone tell me why the IS250 is less fuel efficient? I just don't understand.![Confused](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Also, NO VDIM on the IS250, the top model in Europe? What a great way to promote their latest and greatest technology...
to Lexus.
