Well, no SC350 for the 2SC obviously, but for the next SC, it's time for Lexus to offer a V6 in the SC again as they did in the first-gen. They've already recently made the promise to offer more engine and drivetrain varieties throughout the entire lineup in the future.

Yeah, more engine options and more package/standalone car options will help Lexus increase sales volume on cars, the section where they're still lagging behind a bit.

I, too, would rather see a soft-top on the IS, but convertibles in general are not meant to be as sporty unless they're tiny 2-seat roadsters like the Miata. Rumors have it that the E90 convertible will be a hardtop as well, which I think is a shame. Might be a trend for the market, though. In the end, as long as there are still ragtop roadsters, I won't be heartbroken to see B-platform convertibles offered with folding hardtops.

yeah i have no problem against the hard top on the IS, it could be a nice idea. to me weight is one thing ,but if that's the case, putting a convertible of any kind is already stupid to begin with.

and yes, no sc350!

A loaded IS350 hardtop convertible could probably push $50,000.

Where are you getting this? This is speculation is sorry, but its worst form.
Lexus is battling Benz and BMW. Lexus has always offered a comparable offer with a lower price. Most recently, the GS 300/GS 430 is 8-5k cheaper than their German competitors.
So if anything, expect the IS to be 3-5k cheaper than a comparative 3.
The previous IS was 5-10k cheaper than a comparative 330.

We don't even know wether such a version could appear ever!
HOWEVER, the price would have to be adequate when compared to competitors.

In France :
Nissan 350Z roadster 300 HP: € 37,500,
BMW 330 ci 231 HP(2005): € 47,600 to € 50,550,
BMW M3ci 343 HP: € 65,800.

I would then bet that the price would be between €37,500 and € 65,800 !

Default What about final engine specs?

In March, at the Geneva motor show, Lexus Europe published a brochure stating that the 2.5 V6 delivers 204 HP. In New-York, Lexus reps introduced a 3.5 V6 delivering 'well over 300 HP'. As far as I know, no final specs have been released for the IS350. Any input on this?

I stand by my speculation.

A fully loaded IS350 with PCS will run about $44,000. A hard-top convertible will probably add about $4000, hence "pushing" $50k.

Let's work backwards from your BMW analysis. A fully loaded 225hp 2005 330Ci ragtop convertible MSRPs at $51,500 WITHOUT the performance package or sport package. Doesn't seem unreasonble to think that a 300+ hp IS350 hardtop convertible will push near $50k fully loaded.

Of course, this is pure speculation, as Lexus may not even do a hardtop convertible IS350. But please back up your assertions with more substance before calling other posts "worst form".

I think Jrock's speculation is not unreasonable, a hardtop convertible version will be pricey, but I' m looking forward to it . . .

I think they either haven't decided it yet, or deliberately witheld it until later

Arrow IS colors

It seems European Lexus is offering 10 exterior colors for the IS (and 3 interior colors):

We'll see if there's any difference in the US edition.
