So according to that equation, it is of little use to have Cd of say .25 if you have a huge frontal area. Yes the LS might have a low Cd but the total drag of the IS will probably be less due to a smaller frontal area. Also, a Vette with a rather chunky sounding Cd of .30 will probably have even less total drag due the real small frontal area.
Serisously, how **** must one be to base a car buying decision on Cd?

Nobody said anything about basing a car purchase on cd alone, it's just one of many aspects of the design & engineering of a car, it's too boring to just talk about 0-60 & quarter mile all the time

Agree.
I don't think anyone said they were basing their buying decision on this. I for one have learned alot just from this thread. It's not earth shattering. Like mentioned above just another aspect of design & engineering. Sometimes we forget that Lexus puts alot of work into design & engineering, we see the final product & think it just took them 2 months to make this when in essense it's years of research.

On this pic it gives you an idea of how the hood lines are created & the 2 creases on each side of the hood, Is this an indication of how the Cd was designed? The way the side mirrors are almost tear drop shaped narrow (pointy) then angles wide.
I like the wide stance it presents with 18' tires will give it a more agressive look. Hopefully the 350 will have a sport pkg too.
