The IS350 will have the "electronic nanny" (VDIM) as standard, but tuned less aggressively/more performance-oriented than in the GS430.

You guys will be surprised how much extra time the extra 2 mph in the 0-62 figure can add to 0-60, usually about .2 to .3 seconds.

Also, this guy was using his stopwatch, hardly dependable.

only for the rest of the world, USA/Canada gets a 3.0 litre I6 for the 325 which is less poweful than the one on the 330.(215hp vs. 255hp)

Thankyou for clearing that up sir .. then bmw are cheating .. how can they badge it a 325 still ?

Amethy your cars kick *** by the way .. I hope youdont get rid of either one for the new IS

They have done that for years. Just like when the old 323 actually was bumped up to the 2.5 engine. It seems like once in a while they get stuck on the off numbers, than a few years later it gets corrected. My bet is the curent 325 will eventually be called the 330, and the current 330 will get an engine upgrade and be called a 350 or something.

Anyway, the numbers look very good. I wouldn't be surprised if the IS250 actually did have 220 HP because a 0-60 in 7.2 is right in line with that.

For BMW, a 350 would mean a 5.0 litre engine for the 3 series

depends what you use for testing source and actually 0-62mph is usually done in 3rd gear, while testing up to 60mph is usually done up to 2nd gear - which is why difference between 60 and 62mph is so larger.

Autobild tested 330i on their track, and got 6.6 sec 0-100kmh. (A4 got 6.6secs as well and C350 got 6.5 secs). Difference between that and CD tests that were done to show 330i being quick was that Autobild changed to 3rd gear to reach 100kmh on all 3 cars, to provide correct testing.

I would love to give some credit to that article, but a number of things make me wonder wether this guy is serious.

So far IS250 has been credited of 204 HP (150kw) , but chief engineer Suguya Fukusato thinks it could be 165 kw. Tthat's 10% increase. And judging with a stopwatch while reading the odometer that it can run the 0-60 (62) in 7.2 secs does not sound very serious to me.

Chief engineer Suguya Fukusato expects 233 kw compared to annonced 231 kw for the IS350 nothing wrong with this. But when respectable response.jp states the IS350 run at about 252 km/h and that drive.com reporter read 265 km/h I can't understand why. I am pretty sure that response.jp and drive.com are talking about the same event in Hokkaido.

Though I would be glad he is right, 224 HP and 7.2 secs, that's OK with me. I'll wait some more to get accurate details.

Talked to my Lexus dealer yesterday. He knows NOTHING, never heard of IS350, no release date, no price, never heard of AWD!

Lexus.com is reporting e-shift IS300 0-60 in 7.3 secs
Lexus.fr is reporting e-shift IS300 0-62 in 8.2 secs

There can't be one full second to run from 60 to 62 mph?

Come on, those are just estimates. Road tests from different sources will give different times due to different conditions underwhich they're tested etc.
Car & Driver magazine tested the new Avalon at 6.0 sec. for 0-60mph, another magazine got 6.5 sec. for the same etc., etc., etc. . . .

- speedometer readout at that speed will be significantly higher than actual speed. Even more than that.
- HP vs BHP - there is some 2-3hp difference between those two standards, hence the slight difference between IS350 specs.
- IS250 - in Japan, 2.5l GR makes 215hp right now... not an large stretch.

I would not imagine that Japanese spec 4GR-FSE engines found in new IS will be weaker than those found in its cousin - Mark X. If anything, I would expect them to be more powerful, to make an difference.

Of course, that doesnt mean that EU or US will get the same version of the engine (usually they dont)....

as explained above, it is due to the 2nd vs 3rd gear reaching desired speed. Hence, for all cars manufacturers state quite larger 0-62mph number...

Yes, but still the 3GR-FSE delivers 256 ps in the Mark X while it delivers only 245 ps in the GS300.
EU and US engine are not necessairly more potent.
It may all depend on the way the power gets measured in different countries.
