Default Quirky things about the IS interior...

Has anyone noticed, how

1) The center stack top A/C vents have a curved ")(" shape? Looks kinda strange, almost like upside down eyebrows...

2) The 'Lexus' name is not to be found anywhere on the center stack? Every other Lexus manages to put it somewhere, either to the side or in the center. The old IS, the SC...the new GS has the Lexus name there too. EDIT: now found in latest pics

Argh, misspelled 'quirky' and edited but title won't change!

I've noticed #1 as well, but #2 might not be on the pre-production models yet. If it were to go anywhere, it'd probably go to the right of the "Mark Levinson" logo

I did notice the vents. In fact, that is pretty much my only complaint about the interior. I especially don't care for the circle shape front side vents. Nothing I can't live with though. As for the Lexus name in the center console, I actually prefer that. That is my pet peeve when manufacturers feel the need to put their name everywhere on the car. For me, I actually debadge all my cars when possible.

Well it's a tradition:

...obsessed about every detail

....and set up so that additional logos may go what may (a la GS)

The curved vents have only shown up on the original pre-production photos. If you look at the more recent photos the vent louvers are straight.

Another interesting note about the center vents is that in the photos from Geneva there is a hot/cold rotating switch between the two vents that is absent in the North American model.

Look at the AC vents closely, they are straight with curved leading edges. They appear curved because they are tilted downward....I think

I second that observation.

Yes to me they appear curved. I'm not talking about the inside vents of course they are pointed downward but the they way they are intergrated into the center console, they look curved to me. Curved to the driver & curved to the passanger.

This is not a bad thing, I actually like it.

Yes, I don't see it as anything quirky at all.

Looks fine to me. Remember, keyword: Pre-Production hand built IS that you see in these photos. What you see now may actually change for production models.

Boy are you guys REACHING to find something wrong with the car! lol good grief! If that is the only thing that can be found wrong with it(which I guess its not anything really wrong with it, it just looks funny to some.) then I think Lexus did a great job. BTW

Didn't say anything was wrong, just kinda quirky...although those A/C vents still get me a bit, I haven't seen those ")(" anywhere else before...

I checked some pictures and the Mark Levinson logo is missing from some, perhaps the Lexus logo will be added later.

Keep in mind that Mark Levinson is an option, while Lexus is not.
