So, I guess top of the line IS350 is like a comfortable entry GS300...
Are these pricing you mentioned here based on any info from the dealer you are ordering from ? Cos if it is, this will be the first really SOLID evidence for the IS pricing. BTW, if these prices are correct, I'd say the IS is gonna be a HUGE winner in the market.

Sorry, but at the time of my order, the prices were not specified. These are estimates based on previous listings, and price comparisons to other Lexus options.

The Sales Associate and I looked at the RX330 to compare the cost of the Nav System, Parking Assist, and other packages. The Nav System for the RX330 was $2000 ($1700 invoice) and the Parking Assist was another $1400 (I think). Considering that the RX is "entry level" for Lexus, this package should have a price similar to the 2006 IS.

We'll find out the pricing by August 15th...

Default Parking assist is only a 350 option on a 330 - 1400 on an IS?

Sounds fishy, unless the Lexus version is anything more that a radar driven backup "beeper."

I believe that Park Assist for the 330 is the radar beeper only. Park Assist for the IS250/350 will include the radar beeper and back-up camera that works with the Nav screen.

I don't really think it's necessary for a compact car, but it does bring a lot of "oohs and ahhs" from most passengers...

indeed... ze germans dont have all this "advanced" technology :-). Kind of funny, but first application will be in new S class and is one of the "advanced and innovative" technologies featured in new S class.

I also think that the 330's is reverse only, not front. The GS has front and rear distance control.

A few notes:

1. There will be a spoiler option as a dealer accessory. It is shown in a presentation my dealer showed me, along with ground effects and two optional 18" wheels with different designs than the regular 18"ers.

2. Where is the optional power rear sun shade? That was mentioned as an option previously.

3. The presentation I saw also mentioned a delayed introduction for XM and Sirius satellite radio. I love Lexus but they are really behind on this one. The IS, as a brand-new car, should have this as a factory option from the start. Heck, the Accord EX has had sat radio as standard equipment (with the first three months of service free) for a few years now! I bet when sat radio does become factory installed the car will include the shark fin antenna like the Japanese version has (just my guess).

Err I meant BMW 330i, not Lexus models with a 3.3

Just wondering... Is it possible to get Nav without the Mark Levinson? I have a feeling I might be a little pressed for cash on this one.

I'm thinking 350 with Nav and 18" wheels.....

Yes you can. You need to combine Accessory codes (1) NV and (2) FT, LT, SM, or ST.

ML is the Mark Levinson audio package without Nav, and VN is the combined Nav/ML System.
