Was that 60K in Canadian dollars I could only get the 330i up to $50,515 by checking every box. It's unfair to include accessories because no doubt the Lexus will have lots of available accessories that would swell the price of the IS well beyond the numbers that have been tossed about here. But, even if you go through and check every accessory that makes sense on the BMW configurator you can only get up to 55K. There are 3 choices of wheels in the accessory section that total over $8,000, but remember it only makes sense to choose 1.

But back to the original topic of this thread... Reading between the lines of what the marketing and sales folks at Lexus have been saying, I expect the IS 250 to start at just under $30k with a stick and at about $31K with an automatic (just under the price of a BMW 325). The packages that don't include ML stereo and Nav will cost around 3K so MSRP on a nicely equipped, RWD IS 250 should be around 34K. That's a good value because the equipment level on such a car would make it equivalent to about a $37K BMW 325. Add on another $3k if you want ML stereo and Nav.

I think they'll start the IS 350 at a price just under the BMW 330. So my precise prediction is $35,995 exactly . The packages will probably be priced the same as the IS 250. So you're looking at about $39,000 nicely-equipped, $42k with everything.

only if it comes with a manual tranny. I really wished they made the car a lighter. 3500 plus lbs is a little too much.

Welcome to the CL Price Is Right Showcase Showdown!!!

I think if the fully loaded is350 came in at about 42,000... it could potentially steal away a number of the non hardcore bmw 3-series buyers. For the power and options, 42,000 is a fair price for that car. I would like to see the IS250AWD clock in at 35,000 or under though.

Curious... what do you think the depreciation on this car will be like 2 years after introduction. Do you think a 350 will be under 30,000?

i am not sure how lighter can it be, luxury sedan requires lot of ... luxuries... In any case, it is only 75lbs heavier than 330i while having 61hp more and some +55 lbs of torque (wonder what will 2007 330i have after revised SAE), plus more equipment...

The same 255HP. They already use the new rating system.

Pricing should be set by first week of September or end of this month.

Im gonna say...One Dollar! - and be sure to get your pets spayed or neutered...

But seriously folks...MY dealer (who, fyi, knows more than your dealer ) said that he believed pricing on the 250 would be pretty much the same as the existing 300 - so 33k with the options package. i'm personally thinking that a loaded is 350 with nav would be @41,000 - 2k less without it (right?). so i'm hoping to eek out a pretty nice is350 for 39k...thats my story and im sticking to it... damn i love those icons!

39K for a loaded IS350 sounds good to me. I'm thinking I may have to wait till early 2006 to get that price.

I'm guessing the price your dealer gave you would not include the PCS.

My guess is still 45-47K IS350 fully loaded! If the price with tax goes over $50,000, then I'm out. It will be way to expensive for me!
