Many thanks again!
Very seamless and it wasn't intrusive at all. For someone that will thrash the car, this car will disappoint them. But for the enthusiast consumer /driver (i am one of them), this car will definitely put smiles on peoples faces.

I just got FTP access to host it on our own server (that way we won't hit bandwidth problems)...so i will get to it when I can this week. I will first load the Press video of the IS350 first. Unfortunately it has no sound, but you will get an idea of how the car looks around hard corners. My video i still need to render and cut up. I will try to post up the videos in the coming weeks.

thx

Good to hear. Don't think I'll mind the power retardation as some enthusaists do at all. It'd be nice if the beeping can be turned off as well though.

Definitely looking forward to it. A bit disappointed that you missed the sound. What happened to the sound anyway? Really wanna hear the "very distinct exhaust note" that you're talking about.

The PR Videos that Lexus gave us has no sound. My videos obviously have sound and that distinct IS350 rumble.

Great write-up. It was worth the wait.

Was there any time during your drive that made you think - "I miss the LSD on my 1st Gen IS" ?

Not necessarily because the IS350 has a "Semi-LSD". I cut and pasted this below from a previous post on my.IS:

1) conical spring applies pre-load against side gear
2) relatively low break-away torque threshold
3) redices side-slip on initial accel

This explains why when Lex Dymndz did a brief "launch", he put down two nice tread lines on the pavement.

Ah sorry I reread your last post and realized that you were referring to the PR video, not yours. Well, makes me only more anxious for it.

Great article flip! It really makes me feel that the IS350 is an absolutely incredible car. One question, did the IS350's PLPPackage include the 18inch rims. I'm trying to get an idea of the different designs for the different sized rims.

Yes the Performance Luxury Plus Package should have the upgraded suspension and the 18's from what I recall.

Tungsten Pearl (Silver) is similar to what Alpine Silver Metallic was on the 2nd Gen GS. It's more of a true silver than the current 01-05 IS300 Millenium Silver Metallic which is biased towards green. There's a pic of my car (MSM) beside the Tungsten Pearl IS350 on the article here:

But of course! That's something I was thinking to add in the article. I will probably make a change to describe it.

Trunk is larger from what I can tell from the previous generation, the rear seating is definitely a huge improvement. Definitely more space, and leg room from the previous. Unfortunately there is no EPA rating on interior volume and trunk capacity yet. Much more larger. The backseat like previous has a ski-pass through.

Yes a full comparo vs. the 1st-gen especially from a 1st-gen owner would be awesome.

Huh flip, it's you that posted the official specs of the new IS!

It's a huge improvement for sure in terms of interior room and cargo space, unless the above data is grossly incorrect.
