TL is sporty for a front wheel drive car, certainly significantly more sporty than the Lexus ES & Avalon.

Well, if you compare the TL to the Lexus ES or the Avalon, then I guess the TL is a little more sportier than those. But I still don't think the TL is sporty though. Yes, I've driven one. On paper, it's got too much hp for a FWD. But in reality, it didn't feel like a 270hp car. The suspension is soft. IMO, it's more tuned for comfort, not handling.

Of course I am talking about it being sporty in the context of it being FWD(& hence the torque steer) & in comparison to other cars in it's class. As for it not feeling like it has 270hp, it has been downgraded to about ~250-ish I think under the new SAE rules. Besides, being sporty does not necessary has anything to do with power, there are low power cars (like the miata) which are sporty & fun to drive.
The TL also offers a Spec-A version with a suspension package & different brakes etc. if that's what you're looking for. It got pretty good reviews from the enthusiast magazines too, the only complaint being it would have been even better if it's RWD.
