Well, I held off joining the forums as long as I could, even though I knew eventually I'd get sucked in. After much research (especially Flipside909's postings), annoying problems with current car/dealership (BMW), and "gentle encouragement" from the hubby, I went and put my deposit down on an IS250 this weekend. Was told that I have "priority" for a fully loaded, IS250 MT in Matador Red, Blk leather interior .
Just like the Borg in Star Trek, Resistance is Futile--I will be assimilated!

I wanted that color, but I hate being the first car spotted speeding by the CHP. Red cars just stand out way too much. And with the power of the IS, I know that i'll be always at least 15 mph above the speed limit...

 

Went to Magnussen's Lexus in Fremont. My husband actually works there, but I called and pretended I was your typical lookie-loo and the salesperson was very nice, follow-up was very good. Some other dealerships kinda gave me the cold shoulder once they knew a Lexus employee was involved.
My understanding is that the deposit is refundable, so you could leave a deposit and change your mind later. Or wait and take the chance that there will be a run on the cars when they get here and you end up waiting another 6 months to get one.

i forsaw an is350 in my dreams last night. it may be a sign..
so today, i called the local lexus dealer to see if anyone was on the list.
my salesguy wasn't aware of anyone when i spoke to him first, but said he'd get back to me
after he doublechecked. hmm, maybe one day (very soon) i'll get to join the ranks of the 06 i-s list members! i'll keep yall posted.
