thanks for taking time and posting the pictures ASAP. that's very kind of you.

the car looks absolutely beautiful. i have yet to see it in person. You are very lucky to drive the new Is350 before the general public.

i am looking forward to your article and please dont forgot to write about how does the Is350 compare to your GS400( even tho they are totally different car)

Well the cars that were shipped to NY have the CA MFG plates. There are a handful of preproduction cars that are used for testing/traning purposes. A total of 9 made it out to NY. But the rest of the fleet is still here in CA. I know what i'm talking about since I did drive these vehicles in person...how about you?

way to rub it in my face...how sad

but anyways...
I don't know...I was just saying b/c there have been a few at the HQ...

your guess is as good as mine...it's not like you can physically go see if it is the exact same car
just b/c 9 made it out to NY doesn't mean that yours did too

anyways...who cares...this is a dumb argument

No one is arguing here but you make it seem like you know more than those who actually know what's going on here. I'm only speaking off of facts and experience...not outside guessing. Back on topic please.

??????

Did you even read what was written? LEXUS FAN simply mentioned the possiblity that the cars you drove stayed at HQ, and it's quite plausible that they did. The only one with an attitude about it is you.

Johnny Mo, thanks for getting the pics up so rapidly and sharing the experience with CL. I look forward anything else you choose to post about the new IS.

Hi,

I have been lurking around this forum since March, 2005, ever since I saw the IS at the NYC auto show. I was going to go for the TSX, but love the Lexus reliability and the creature-comforts the new IS offers. This is my first post, and the question I have is, are those LED tail lights. I know its been published to have LEDs, but by these close up does not substantiate this.

Of course I did that's why I replied. And to explain this to you clearly since you obviously do not understand, Lexus USA brought over a handful of pre-production hand built IS250 rwd/awd & IS350 in various colors and option packages. The 9 that were trucked to the East are press pool cars. The same cars that the press has used for testing since early July in Pasadena, NorCal, San Diego and etc courtesy of Lexus Marketing. Even the keyfob tags show that these vehicles were assigned to Lexus Marketing w/contact info just in case of an emergency. Just recently the cars were sent out of state to other media outlets to preview. This explains the reason why the cars we drove already had about 1,000 miles logged on the ODO. The press pool cars are seperate of what is being driven around at HQ. Understand?

I appreciate if you keep the commentary to PM...and ask kindly one more time to keep it on topic. Please respect it.

Johnny, can't wait for your review and photos bro!

Thanks.

Yes they are LED taillights. They are not the same small LED lights you find on say G35 but they are LED tail bulbs for the taillights and CHMSL.
