To me, apples to apples sounds a lot better than apples and beef steak :-).
Saying IS averages 5.6 (or 5.2 for that matter) still makes little sense since most of those tests only had one thing in common - same car. If you ever tested your car at different tracks, with different elavation, temperature, humidity, you probably would understand why mixing and matching wont work.
And nothing against posting all times, which i think is pretty good idea, just that averaging is simply not actual averaging but mixing and matching.

I posted the known 0-60 numbers for the IS350, and calculated the mathematical average. If you have a problem with that, so be it. I'm not going to play with you regarding semantics. Mixing, matching, averaging, call it whatever you want.
"different elavation, temperature, humidity," is precisely the reason why I think an average is a good idea, because in the real world this car WILL be driven under different elevation, temperature, and humidity.
I'm not saying that the IS350 WILL get 5.675s on a typical day. It's a mathetical average of the reported 0-60 times so far, and an evolving number as we get more results. Nothing to get too up in arms about.

Actually, Lexus had an independent company do 0-60 times and the revised time for the IS350 is 5.3 seconds. http://lexus.com/models/is/specifications.html

is a well respected testing and evaluation firm that works for a lot of the different makes doing research. What is also interesting is they will find subjective differences from the driver's perspective after all of the numerical data is accumulated. In the past Gordon Wangers would evaluate the Lexus performance and give his opinion of the competitive comparisons. I found them to be insightful and valuable. They test for traction in wet and dry slalom runs etc. AMCI certified the IS350 at 5.3 seconds 0-60. Thank you Gordo.....
