What does the price have to do with it? Would you say the Benz E55 or the SL55 is an expensive car? I see them almost everyday, if not every other day. It's up to Lexus if they want to keep their car off the road. If Lexus is willing to keep their production low, then you won't be seeing your rare IS350 around. And if you want a rare car why not go get a MKIV supra?

Well in the mid-late 90s during the latter of the MKIV sales, a fully loaded JZA80 2JZ-GTE fully loaded w/Sport Roof was well over $40k. A fully loaded IS350 today has just as much or more features with about the same power (306 hp w/new adjusted SAE ratings...is about 320 range with old method) and is all N/A. your point?

Because not everyone wants a used 13 year old car. I think we lost a bit of focus here. We're talking about pricing, availibility and test drive dates. If you want to talk Supra, do it in car chat or better yet Supra Forums.

thanks!

well that and $40k+ in 1996 dollars is probably something like 50k now.

I hope you're joking. Putting aside the fact that Toyota/Lexus is a "for profit" company and wants to sell as many "units" as it can make, there are cars "flooding" the streets right now that are much more expensive and more "exotic" than the IS350. Another point: why define so-called status with a type of car? Any moron can own a car. An even worse mental deficient is the person who thinks that that moron is such a "big deal" because of the car they drive.

Of course it's overpriced if it's more than $40k... Not only that, this car will depreciate and be worthless in a few years. your point?

The point is, everyone values any kind of possession differently. To some, a 45k IS350 is overpriced and to some don't even care what it will cost in the end. All cars depreciate, and people will buy what they want regardless of what you or I will tell them. I can easily say a BMW 330i is way overpriced but that's not going to stop a buyer and say "hmmm maybe I should buy a 13 year old Supra instead." Now how silly does that sound? PM me if you would like to discuss this further.

Thanks.

Sounds like you're taking this personal. Why don't you PM if you have a problem?

I have to agree with SupraBob in the sense that 43K will be a bit much for an overpriced IS. A fully loaded IS should be just shy of 40K in order to compete well with the Germans.

You mean "nicely equipped" 350 for $40K. No way you'll get Nav, ML, PCS, PA, 18's, etc for $40K. You certainly wouldn't get ANYTHING from Germany for that price.

Take off the Park Assist, Radar Cruise control, and PCS, and 39K sounds about right to me.

If you WERE able to get a 330i with ZERO options, it would cost $39,220. Oops, that includes two items: paint ($475) and leather ($1,450).

and that + sport package (1600) is pretty much all you need for 330i.
