Lexus Marketing is extending an exclusive invitation to online enthusiasts. Similar to press previews where we host journalists at events where they learn about vehicles before introduction to the general public, we’re providing a similar opportunity to learn more about the new IS “up close and personal.”

Many of you are aware of the Taste of Lexus (www.tasteoflexus.com) events held around the country this time of year. We’re going to take some time at the conclusion of select consumer days to have a technical specialist walk enthusiasts through the details of the new IS and answer your questions.

Here’s how it works:
We’re hosting these events on one day only in each of three cities on the Taste of Lexus tour:

- Miami, FL at the Calder Race Course on Saturday October 1st

- Chicago, IL at Arlington Park on Saturday October 8th

- Houston, TX at Reliant Park on Saturday October 15th

The enthusiast event will occur at the conclusion of the day, so we’ll confirm reservations for you as a regular Taste of Lexus participant in the final group of the day (around 4:00 PM.) You’ll get to enjoy everything Taste has to offer, including test drives in the new IS 250 and IS 350. At 6:00 PM you will be invited to gather around the IS display in the main tent for the technical presentation with a question and answer period that should conclude before 7:30 PM.

Here’s how to sign up:

and you will be prompted to indicate which of the dates/locations you’d like to attend. At the completion of your successful enthusiast event registration, you will be directed to sign up as a regular Taste of Lexus participant in the final session of the appropriate consumer day. If you’ve already signed up for another date/time, we’ll help reassign your reservation.

Seating is limited to 30 per venue so we’re asking every registrant to make a firm commitment to be there. Even with Lexus confirming the attendee list, please don’t be disappointed if you find the session you’re interested in is already full.

We’re confident you’ll be even more impressed with the new IS when you see it in person and experience it for yourself. Thanks for your enthusiasm.

I signed up and when I clicked submit it simply said thanks for signing up. I did not get any kind of email confirmation. Is that how it is supposed to be? Do I just show up at the end of the day?

I hate to bring in a regional rivalry, but does the West coast get any dates for this kind of event?

I signed up too but I didn't get an email confirmation either. Before I book a flight to Chicago, I need some sort of confirmation, hopefully an email will be sent out.

btw, there are 8-10 SWA flights from KCI->CHI on weekends so it's easy...and cheap.

Taste of Lexus for us here in the west isn't until November. I will double check with my sources to see if they have anything else in store.

Dave- I signed up for the Chicago event but after submitting the registration, I never got redirected. It just has a picture of the car and it says, "Thank you for your interest in Lexus.
Your request was submitted successfully.".

What else do I need to do to get registered?

I haven't been to Chicago before so I'm making my 1st trip on October the 19th. I'll see for myself how much love Chicago show towards Lexus. Come to Northern Cal or Southern Cal and drive around 405, 10, 101, 605, 57, 5, 60,880, 280, 680, 580, 80 freeways and you will see why Lexus owns!

Im was born in Silicon Valley(San Jose), but here in chicago there are no earthquakes, or hurricanes and there is lots of land! and the cost of living is no where near as much as Cali.

does anyone have any suggestions for how to contact anyone to confirm a seat at this event? they ask that you show up if you make the reservation but i can't purchase an airline ticket and show up without a confirmation. unfortunately if i cannot get a confirmation on friday for the saturday event, i won't be going.

I would like to know too. I registered but I have no idea if I am confirmed a seat to the event. No number to call and no one here seems to know or wants to bring forth the info.

I live 20 minutes away from the park so I guess I can just go and see hat happens.

However, the cancelled the Miami event due to water on the course.
