I guess the IS doesn't have the automatic seat belt anchors. Didn't see the button in any of the pics. It's not a very necessary feature anyway...

But a cool one to have nonetheless...truly a luxury perk!

PIC on First Page:

Compared to this, I'm seeing 2 different colors. Must be lighting inside, right?

Yesterday I went to the Anaheim car show and saw the IS. It was a great car, very nice interior, back seat were decent at least bigger than my civics and just looked very sporty. I saw the red (really red) displayed IS 350 with the Mark Levinsion system which you couldn’t touch that was a bummer, but they a had a basic 350 and a 250 on display for the crowd. So I started talking to one of the reps there and slowly by slowly I tired to get out some type of pricing out of him and he told me that prices should range from $39,000-$46,000 for the IS 350. Truly I think that is too high where you can get a 330i fully loaded around 45k with pretty good negotiating skills. He also said that there will definitely not be any ML in any of the current IS’s until start of next year. I don’t know how much reliable this guys facts are about pricing but if pricing is really going to be around what he said, its going to be really hard for Lexus to compete in this segment.
Before I forget he also mentioned basically majority of the dealerships have these cars in stock they’re just not allowed to reveal them to the customers. My guess is if they really do have them in stock then our sales rep should know the pricing because I’m sure the stickers are on the windows.

They are manual seat belt anchors.

Well if you think about it, a fully loaded IS350 with ML/NAV, PCS/Radar Cruise & Park Assist will drive it that high. Just look at a loaded GS430 for instance. With all the options mentioned above, the MSRP is just over $60k.

It's not bad info, it's reality.

Right - what I am saying is I hope it doesn't go that high. Not that I don't think Lexus *could* charge 46k, I just think they would be better served sub 45k. I don't know, psycholigical barrier, maybe.

It's a psychological barrier. When the new GS430 peaked past the $60k mark, people complained. It was the same way with the 1st Gen LS400. No one would ever imagine the car hitting near the $50k mark by the end of it's model year cycle. Just look at a fully loaded LS430 now. It gets close to $70k for the Ultra Luxury package. The more features you add, the more the cost will go up. This is $46k USD we're talking about btw.

So how does the Smart Key automatically position the seat belt anchor if they are manual?

It doesn't. Seat belt anchor height is not part of the memory system.

Huh?

I saw your quote. Anchors are NOT part of the memory settings as confirmed by flipside. Here's a quotr from the IS Dealer Education book...

Three-position memory system for front seats, steering wheel and outside mirrors.
