CA Auto Show, '06 IS Pictures. 56k warning
Hey guys!
New here. Haven't posted much, always been a lurker.
Today I went to the CA Auto Show, and they had three new IS on display. It is just beautiful in real life. Can't wait to get behind the wheel.
Just wanted to share more pictures with you guys.
Enjoy!!

Thanks for posting the pictures. I get my first viewing on Sunday when I drive to Chicago. Can't wait to see it as everyone says it looks better in person than in picture form. I'm still concerned about the rear end though. If it doesn't work for me then back to the drawing board. Let me see...Audi or BMW. Such tough choices.

that's a nice red color, but doesn't look like the Metador Red on the GS, which tends toward a maroon hue. Was this a custom paint job, or did it actually have an orangish tone?

That's definitely the same Matador

To explain how they get the final color, first the car is primed, then the base color applied (probably a metallic gold/copper), then the mica flakes (again, looked to be gold/copper flakes), then the candy red coat (which lets the base coat and flakes shine through to a degree). Obviously there may be multiple alternating coats of candy red and metal flake to get the depth of the color, but matador red is NOT a burgundy color. It may appear that way in the shade, but in direct sunlight (or the monster spots they use at auto shows) it shows it's orangey roots. I've officially decided against it now. Too much orange for me. I was hoping that it was more of a true candy-apple red color. Oh well, gonna have to go with Tungsten or Blue Onyx.

What's that little hole underneath the door handle? I know BMW has the same thing as the Lexus's Puddle Lights on the mirrors except relocated to the door handles. Is this the same thing?

I was also quite surprised how orangie the Matador Red was. Very nice color, But I'm partial to Crystal White.
And that little black "hole" on the door handle is probably the sensor for the keyless. Not a keyhole
Hey Vincent, I say you go there. Definately a good experience, since it's not as crowded as the LA Auto Show, and you get lots of seat time. Besides, you can play with the navi, and do the self check gauges, over and over again. Other than that, plenty of Lambos there.
