Default Lexus Sport Package?

Is there such thing as a sport package for the IS 250/350? Kind of like the BMW sport package (bigger rims, stiffer suspension, sport seats/sterring wheel etc...). Such a thing on the new IS?

See link above. It's called the Performance Luxury Plus package.

Anyone have any good pics of the "metallic" interior trim on the Sports package. I've got a few small pics, but the trim seems to be a different color in every pic I see.

Click on my article link in my sig below and check out the gallery. This is like deja vu...I coulda sworn I explained this somewhere...either here or on my.is.

OK so there is an option for sport suspension and 18" wheels. Anything with sport seats? I wonder how the wings on the seats hold you in place. Anyone sat in one yet care to talk about it? Most of us know the BMW 3 series have electric sport seats in which the wings of the seat come closer to you to keep you in place. When you compare the sport seat to the non-sport seat in the 3 series there is a HUGE difference.

Non existent. If you get a chance to drive the new IS or just sit in it, you will find the seat bolstering is plenty. The perforated seating is available for the Premium Luxury Plus package which features air cooled/heated seats for the bottom cushion and back support area. The Peformance Luxury Plus package has all leather seating surfaces.

I don't see any pics of the metallic trim in your review gallery.

Yeah my Press Kit has conflicting info. The options list states the obvious...but in the breakdown explanation of the leather seating surfaces on page 34 on our press kit, it lists like this with photos of the leather:

D. Leather Finish Pallete

1) Three leather colors
2) Luxury Package Leather:
a. perforated leather (for vented seats)
b. smooth leather side bolsters
3) Sport Package:
a. smooth leather for all seating surfaces.

I will post up the page later on when I have time. But then again this Press Kit was put together 7/12/05 so obvious changes will be made from that point up to production.

Which metallic trim are you talking about? The Performance Luxury Plus package Silver trim that replaces the wood? The color you see on the dash for the HVAC/NAV/Stereo buttons is the same silver used on the pieces that is replaced with wood on the other package.

I think that the silver plastic used on the Nav/Stereo buttons were pre-production and will not be on the final product. The metallic silver trim should be a smooth brushed aluminum.

Here is a pic:

Here is a pic:
It'a actually the artificial lighting the car is under which shows that silver color as shiny. Under certain angles the finish looks exactly like you see in the photos, but in regular daylight...it's not as shiny.
