Yeh my dad almost usually does, I don't know how he does it. He's such an aggressive buyer when he walks into any dealship. Oh by the way, did you get a good deal? Did you also check out the Countyline lex, or pembroke pines? Just curious on how much you paid and how competitive these other dealships are before I waste my time.

After I was done picking myself up off the floor from laughing out loud at the dealership for having such brass ones (the IS250 is no longer a hot car, and discounts and deals abound on this car!) I'd find another dealership.

Essentially what he's just said to you is that he wants $700 for the right to do business with him. That's absurd. Tell him you aren't interested, and tell him you'll pay $1000 over invoice on a new 07, plus tax, title, and tags.

If he won't do it, find another dealership. The $1000 over invoice isn't anything spectacular anymore, and with some negotiating, should be attainable in most open markets. I just re-read your post - with an IS *2*50, you should be able to get an even better deal. Don't even bother with this dealership unless he'll immediately drop that nonsense.

BTW: I bought my 06 IS350 from Austin Lexus about a month ago, and I paid $1200 over invoice. Not the greatest deal I've read on here, but it is reasonably competitive.

Depends. What is the price you'd get if you bought now, and what is the price you'd get if you bought in December? What is the price others in LA are getting for that car right now?

I got quote from 2 dealers ( beverly hills and newport beach) of around $34,200 plus tax and license

thats around $3540 off MSRP. Do you think it will go down further in december ?

yes i did.

from my research and talking w/ numerous sales guys (in SoCal), all '06 is350's w/ sport pkg came w/ nav + ML. if you wanted just the sport pkg, or the sport pkg w/ nav or ML, it was a custom order.

I recently received offers from two Lexus dealers in the Bay Area, CA to sell any in stock IS250 (excluding AWD) for invoice price. Has anyone been able to get below invoice and if so where are you located? The specific model I an looking at includes NAV, Premium Package, Preferred Accessory Package, 18" Wheels, HID, and rear spoiler and is going for $38,127 MSRP and invoice shown at the dealer is $33,600. This invoice price is a little higher than the one calculated by Kelley Blue Book which was $33,207 even thought the MSRPs match. Does any know why there's this descrepancy? Could it be a hidden dealer fee? Any input would be appreciated.

you should always go with the dealer invoice. Websites such as Kbb/Edmunds/carsdirect.com did not include the dealer association fees, and that's why the price seems lower than the actually price. I've had couple customers questioning me in regards to this issue and if for any given reason that you're getting a 250/350 based on the online invoice price, it is indeed "below" the actual invoice (A good deal).

I have done some searching and haven’t found anything about the December to Remember sales event with respect to the 2007 IS. From what I have read, it didn’t seem like anyone got any stellar deals last year since it was the first year the second generation was out. Do you think this year will be a better year to take advantage of the DTR event? Are the deals more off the MSRP and/or lower APR?

Also, generally how far in advance do the dealers know which cars will be allocated to them?

I just finished talking to the dealer and was offered an additional $200 below dealer invoice.

Irishman - Out of curiosity, what are the dealers actual costs? For instance, how much more below invoice can they go before it reaches actual costs? I was surprised that they could go below invoice when I heard because I had previously thought invoice was their actual cost.

Does the December to Remember event happen every year? Are there extra dealer incentives to allow the dealers to budge even more than the usual sales?
