Can you fill me in and tell me where they pay $1000 per day ! I need a new job!

Anyway, the IS350 is looking like a VERY GOOD value to me over the GS350. Hmmmm... I think Lexus delivered a winner.

Do you mean the GS300? Perhaps it is a very good value. I mean, a loaded IS350 has more amenities than a GS300, but you do not get the same amount of passenger room (and driving prestige) as you would the GS. But if you are guessing about the possibility of the upcoming GS350, you will get a lot of car in the IS for the same amount of power.

Default Does anybody bargain shop anymore?

Let me start by saying that I think the announced pricing for the IS today was very good. As promised by Lexus, the IS is definitely the best value in the segment. With destination, an IS 250 RWD should run $31810. When you consider all the standard equipment that you get for that price, that's terrific. Remember, the base car is so well equipped, you could not buy a single option and still have a great car. Considering the performance differential I'm also stunned that the IS 350 starts at only $35,440. Throw on about $1100 for the premium plus package (just the wood and heated/ventilated seats) and $720 for the gorgeous 18's and you're looking at a sticker south of $38,000 for one awesome car and that's the real bargain here fellas. I'm suprised that there are so many people adding up the cost of EVERY SINGLE OPTION and then complaining about the price. I mean what's the deal with all the people wanting Nav (which comes with a backup camera) AND park assist. Do people have that much problems parking their car that they need a camera AND sonar to get the job done!!! I certainly don't.

As for my plans...
Considering the small price differential, I think that if Lexus follows through and builds 4 250's for every 1 350, the 350's will be selling at MSRP for a while, but deep discounts will soon be had on the 250's. So I'll take the discount on a 250 RWD AT with its excellent gas mileage. Make mine Smoky Granite Mica with the Sterling interior. I'll take just the Premium Plus package and the 18's. The sticker should be well south of $34,000. I'll wait until I can get at least a $2,000 discount off sticker and I should be able to drive off the lot for less than $35,000 with TTL. I sat in the car at the auto show this weekend and to get this car for that price is a STEAL!!!

Well said!!!

A stock IS will be a great car. It will still be more comfortable (and more powerful) than most compact sedans out there. This is why people will still migrate to Lexus when they see that the IS starts at $30k. People will have to realize that options cost and if people really want it, they will have to pay for it. Not everyone wants to pay an extra $8k for Nav + ML with Luxury/Performance Plus 18" Packages.

When you say "more powerful" and 30k, I assume you mean the IS250, in which case I have to ask - more powerful than what? There are a number of cars that msrp under 31k that are more powerful than the IS250.

I agree the pricing on the IS350 isn't bad. Minus some of the more expensive options you can get a great car for not a lot of money - but the IS250 seems strange to me. Maybe I am too concerned with power, or its lack therof. Yes, it is comfortable, but powerful it is not.

if you want power, simply get IS350? I dont get it... If you dont care about power and would rather get better MPG, get IS250.

It seems pretty simple actually...

Default E90 Owner here!

I have a e90 with prem, sports, heated seats, and best option of Man trans. it is also white so no charge for paint. I did not want navi since it is not as good as my wifes RX and I only drive my car to work 10 miles each way. I ordered it in the May and paid 40k even. About $1300 off mrsp. not bad since It was a new model and nothing was sitting on dealer lots. This is my 2nd BMW. I think the is350 is a great car, but IMO Lexus missed the boat on price. It should have been 3k cheaper and then they could have stole some BMW buyers. I love my wifes RX 330 more then I would like to admit but, BMW's are just more fun to drive! If the is was 3k cheaper and came with a 6spd man. I would have also been driving a Lexus but as soon as I heard no Man trans I ordered my E90 without even thinking of price. I am glad that I did not wait for the pricing. Good luck to all future IS owners you will have a great car!

The IS250 AWD and IS350 don't have much of a difference in fuel economy according to the official EPA estimates. The IS250 AWD will only be 1 mpg better than the IS350. If you really want to get better mpg, then get the IS250 RWD. Personally I'd rather have the extra power. Here's the thread with the official EPA estimates.

Let me say again, this is Lexus. If you haven't noticed by now, Lexus pricing has gone up and up and up on every vehicle, every year. And Lexus has remained the top selling luxury brand here. Also, Lexus is committed to being a true luxury brand.

If you want value pricing or cheapness and obvious cost cutting, look elsewhere.

I for one AM GLAD the pricing is expensive. This is a LUXURY BRAND. I feel the pricing is appropriate.

Also, I am sure Lexus realizes, they CAN charge more, Lexus now has the "image" where people will pay the $$$$ for it. Not to the extent of Benz or BMW but right behind them.

Just to know the IS is built in Tahara, the WORLDs HIGHEST QUALITY AUTO PLANT IN THE WORLD, is worth an additional 5k to me.

you don't honestly believe that high price always guarantees high quality, do you ?

Default Picking up new IS350 next week

I'm picking up an IS350 next week:

Tungsten Pearl, Black Interior

Premium Luxury Plus Package
Nav + ML
PA (Don't need it, but this particular car comes with it and I really want ML)
Floor mats, cargo net and trunk liner

Cost: $45,034 includes desitnation charge of $695.00

I read every single post regarding ML not being offered on the intial build, but they said they will have my car on Monday, October 17 with ML (Midwest dealer).

Stay tuned.

I too agree that Lexus is pure Luxury. I mean, the IS is an entry Luxury sedan, so to think that the IS is the "least" the Lexus can do definately illustrates what Lexus is willing to do to please their customers.

Yes, the price is up there, but it's not extravagant. The price is high because of the numerous standard options in the car that people usually pay hundreds of dollars extra for. Without those standard options, the IS becomes a Toyota, not a Lexus. Hey, you get what you pay for...

Hey congrats. I assume you're paying MSRP?

$45k.... That's pretty much loaded, except PCS.

Are you getting the headlight washers ($100)?
