Question question about the is250awd

i was reading, and it say that "Next up is the AWD IS 250, starting at $34,285; this price includes a perforated leather-trimmed interior upgrade with heated and ventilated front seats and wood trim", is that mean it will cost less for me to order the long *** name package(with those goodies)? or still the same, caz thats stupid.

It means that for the IS250 AWD, the Premium Plus Package is standard, but not the Premium Luxury Plus Package. The big difference is HID+AFS Auto Level Headlamps, power seats, outside auto dimming and reverse tilting mirrors, and rain sensing wipers.

It is possible that the Premium Luxury Plus Package is actually standard on the IS250 AWD, which would explain the higher price. We'll have to wait and see...

That's what I was thinking or I should say hoping...my dealer seems to think so based on his allocation

Red face

that would be hot,b/c all i have to get is either the Nav and/or the ML, i can live w/o the nav, gotta have ML, which is like 1-2k, so it going to add up around 36k, which is around my price. i was compare the is250 and is350, their base price is about 1k differences, so if you getting a fully loaded is250 awd and fullyloaded is350, the is250awd would cost 42k+TTL, and is350 would cost 43k+TTL, then who the F* would get a is250 awd loaded????

Expletives are not necessary thanks.

There are people out there that would pay for a fully loaded IS250 AWD. Not everyone has the same preferences and priorities in purchasing a vehicle. With that mentality, why buy a fully loaded IS350 or etc when you can get a mildy loaded GS300 for the same price? See where i'm going? It's all preference. There's a car for everyone.

Hey, some people want safety, and some people want performance. You also have to think about insurance, because the IS350 will be significantly more than the IS250 AWD...

what you say is true, but im comparing the same car here, i wasnt comparing BMW vs Lexus, just a difference size of engine and awd, which is nice, but the is350 has PCS which isnt bad...well you get what i mean. and for 1k of differences, you get 100+hp w/o awd but w/ PCS... umm do the math and tell me im wrong.

I don't think you see the big picture here. Not everyone thinks about buying a car the same way you do. For $1k more, someone can say they have part of their down payment on a IS250 AWD.Or they can put that $1k into their insurance premium or even gas. Again it's all a matter of preference and priorities. People who need an AWD car for their daily driving duties don't need 100+ more HP, +1 more liter of displacement to be undriveable in snow or what have you.

You know what, I just realized that PCS is standard, just like the moonroof. I did not want those options... Sorry, my rant...

Anyways, there are people out there (mostly in places with inclement weather) that will prefer the AWD. You make sacrifices with power, but you still spend $1k less.

umm if you are buying a 42k car or 43k car, i think most of the people will probably put down the same amount of down payment.... well, all im trying to say is im hopeing lexus will put PLP in the AWD so i dont have to get it and for ML and Navi the car would only add up to 37-8k which is 5k away from IS350, and thats more reasonable pricing to me...

PLP is available for the AWD. I drove one of the pre-production IS250 AWD's back in August. Fully loaded with the sunshade, ML/NAV and Dynamic Radar Cruise.

also i read somewhere saying that the is250 awd will be the main selling car for the new IS, and for 1k difference, im sure alot more people will get the is350... if what i read was true, then for every 5 IS lexus build, 1 will be MT 1 will be AT and 2 will be AWD, and 1 will be IS350... and that just doesnt make much sense to me.
lets do some grading here:
is250 AWD:
204hp C+
AWD A+
loaded cost 42k C+
is350:
306hp A+
PCS A
VDIM B+
loaded cost 43K B
so over all is250 awd is a C+ to a B car
is350 over all is a B+ to an A car...
unless the is250 awd cost around 37-8k loaded which makes it an A to A+
then is250awd is only a C+ car... where i can get an audi for less with same comfort interior and handling but more problems later on... but we are talkin about now. so...

Whatever you read is incorrect. Majority of New IS sales will be for the IS250 RWD not AWD.
