Hi guys. Just wanted to share my experience of the Lexus IS launch party today here in Calgary, Canada. Lots of great food and great Lexus people greeting with smiles and answering questions and ofcourse the main focus today was the Lexus IS 250/350. They had an IS250 AWD and IS350 with luxury premium package (already sold to a customer
).
All I have to say is WOW! What a gorgeous and fabulous car. I have driven the previous IS300, G35 and Acura TSX and this is just a new level of refinement and quality. The muscular bulges all over the place and a wide athletic, bold stance and beautiful big rims. You have to see it up close to truly appreciate the perfection in craftsmenship. The car looks very upscale for it's class yet has a very sporty feel to it with legs stretched out in the cabin like a sports car and a high center console with the gear shift on it. The back seat with the front seats reasonably pushed forward were sufficient for a decent sized 6 foot person (the person sitting beside me in the back seat was about 6'2 and 210 lbs and he had some head room to spare). I could only imagine how the IS350 beast feels like with a 5 second flat 0-60. Lexus is on it's way to becoming the best luxury nameplate. The new IS is all about the best luxury with a sporty and high performance appeal packaged into one. My next car in a few years will be none other than a Lexus and most likely an IS.

My dad went as well. He said it was first class all the way. It was more of a grand opening celebraton than an IS party from his description. I look forward to seeing the new showroom next trip to Calgary. I noticed Canada only gets 7 exterior IS colors, and no PCS or PA. Other than that the packages, seem to be better organized than here in the US.

Are you originally from Calgary and now living in US?? Yeah, it was a lavish party and the courteous behavior of the Lexus reps was first rated. Lavish lunch buffet etc. The new dealership is quite massive. IEven though, I have been looking at the IS pictures for a few months, I was still very surprised when I saw it up close and personal. It looks miles ahead of the 3 series in aesthetics and quality. The IS350 was sold already and locked out so I got to sit in the IS250 AWD.
