7. Following my suggestion, my wife bought a 2006 IS350 RWD in 2012 when we lived in California. Now in Connecticut, she wanted an AWD. I finally found one!! (The RWD is for sale.)

7. First time Lexus owner. I joined this forum to get guidance on cost and care.
Today picked up a beautifully maintained 2006 IS350. It came with service records from new. It has 272000km on it, but it is as smooth as butter. Can't wait to do a few upgrades to it.
My name is Mike, I live in the Netherlands and I recently bought my first Lexus ever, coming from a 2001 Volvo S60.
It's a matador red 2006 IS250 RWD, 19" aftermarket rims and it has a teeny tiny "spoiler" on the trunk.
The interior is all black with the leather heated/ventilated seats, navigation screen, Mark Levinson audio system and it has a remote controlled Webasto pre-heating system, which was installed in 2009 and still works properly to this day!
As mentioned, I used to drive a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4 5 cilinder NA. The car was starting to show its age after 23 years and 400k kilometers of service. But in all the time that I've had her (nearly 6 years), she never left me stranded! She's off to a new owner, and I decided that I wanted to get a Lexus this time around. With the IS350 sadly not being available in the Netherlands, I opted to go with the IS250. I've done a ton of research on this model, including on this forum. After having heard and read everything, I decided to go with the one I have now. It's got service records dating back to 2006, and with 300k kilometers on the clock it still drives like a dream. There are only 2 things that annoy me though. The paint: It's not really visible on the pictures, but when you get close to it, you'll notice a lot of minor damages to the paint, and a rather large spot where the clearcoat has oxidized near the trunk. After 2 months of driving this car, I think this car, with the technical state that it's in, is worth getting a repaint somewhere in the future.
And the headlights: Whenever I go and wash it using a pressure washer (I hold the washer pretty far from the car due to the paint) the headlights fog up. The previous owner retrofitted the casings of the headlights and I suspect that the sealant around it isn't entirely air (and moisture) tight. So I might get a set of the VLAND LED lights.
The radiator had a tiny leak when I got the car, so I decided to replace it right away, together with a coolant flush and the hood struts which were saggy. Planning to do all the maintenance myself, as I did with my S60. Which brought me to this forum, it's always good to have people around with advice on how to take on certain projects!
Second ever build for any car and I get the pleasure of it being a 2is. Glad to be here!

Bought this car used from someone who did not care about it at all. I have put a lot of work into this car just to get it running in great shape! The actual build is soon to come! I’m sure I’ll run into more problems
