for 15,000 miles/yr the IS250 w/o Navigation is 62% for 36 months, 59% for 39, and 50% for 48
IS250 w/ Navigation is 60%,57%,48%
@ 15,000 mi/yr the IS350 is virtually the same.
If leasing @ 12,000 mi/yr add 2% to the residual value.
These values are generous and may tilt towards leasing. The GS300/430 values were rather conservative when they came out initially and were not as lease friendly as the new IS residuals.

I just looked up the GS300 base rate and it seems like .00225 is the money factor. I wonder if it will be higher for the IS? Well, I just calculated a payment of $670.55 for a 36 month lease using the .00225 mf with a residual of 60%, msrp of $42,500, and a tax rate of 7.25%..

Also does LFS do leases for 10k/year miles? If so, what's the residual?

Maybe some banks will. The residuals may not be as generous from the banking sector however.

After four years (at 15K mi/yr), the projected value of the non-nav car is $21,000 and the nav-equipped car is $21,384.
So the nav system is projected to add merely $384 to the value of the car four years from now.
Of course by then probably most cell phones will include GPS mapping.

60% residual would make a 30k dollar IS250 depreciate 12000 dollars in 36 months, which works out to be $333.33 per month in depreciation. So what else gets added in there? What's the money factor? The interest rate?

in their lease residual projections. When Nav came out in 1998 they didn't think that the future value would maintain the spread in price between the Navigation equipped models and the non nav. We are now in our fifth Generation Nav system on the IS and Nav is more popular than ever on the new and preowned cars so I think LFS unfairly penalizes the Nav option. As a matter of fact some of the preowned Lexus are hard to find with Nav and they bring a premium price. If they don't have Nav the higher price level the model the longer it sits on the lot. I am very happy with the residuals that have been published by LFS on the IS250/350's. I would definitely lease this car because you have more options after the 3-4 year year period is up and you get more leverage with your car payment. You have less exposure to loss too. Cars are not investments unless you are buying vintage or exotic cars and you're a collector.
