"Why Live in One Dimension" (What do u think of the ad slogan)
I think again, that Lexus usually hits home runs with marketing but this slogan could be better as the campaign. I've seen 2 ads now and they are okay to me. I would like to see a more aggresive campaign.

i agree. saw another commercial last night during monday night football. silver IS, looked nice. but the message doesn't make much sense and it doesn't "scream" for attention the way the GS commercials have.
maybe they will ramp it up later on?? maybe more performance related.

It sounds more like a slogan for the ES than the IS...
I think the 'dimension' question is a bit too rhetorical..."why live in 1 dimension?' well who does that anyways? At least one is 3-dimensional in terms of physical features and environment. That's geometry.
I'd like to see something more aggressive, simple. Such as "Like no Lexus you've seen before..." or something simple, straightforward like the GS' "next phenomenon from Lexus."
The car should sell itself...more shots of the car, more speed, more luxury...in-your-face a bit. Interestingly, the newspaper ads so far don't have this 'one dimension' slogan.
I'm heartened by how Lexus has returned to its award-winning, 1989-style ads with discussions of the technological advancement and unique features of the LS, SC, and ES....but the 'split screen' campaign for the ES has been a miss. The GS campaign is pretty good, as is the RX 400h campaign. (all on TV). On paper, the new 'white background' campaign is great.

Yeah I agree. I think its good but I liked the old approach better. With the Orange IS race car and the silver stock one, and they had clips of the race car at different tracks and then at the end they showed the stock one on the street and the said, " The IS from Lexus, it handles like a performance car.. Thats because it "IS"..... " Heres a link if you haven't seen it... www.teamlexus.com Its on the front page... I'm sure Lexus will wow us later with something better.

The two dimensions are..
Performance and Luxury or the fact that you can have both. Thankfully not as cerebral as the lapping waves ads from Infiniti without a car in them. I want to hear those dual exhausts while redlining the tach and paddle shifting. I'm going to work on the storyboard tonight.....

Corny!!! I saw it for the first time today. Wack *** commercial. For such an exciting car, there is nothing that excites me about that commercial. Doesnt get the blood moving or begs me to go out and test drive that car. Its way to serious and not fun. When I see the G35 commercials, they make me want to go out and drive those cars or even the 3-series. Heck, the CTS and TL commercials are more entertaining.
Give me some engine noise. Some exhaust noise. A burn out please!! CGI or something. Make it do a backflip. Lie to me dammit!!! I would be happy even if you lie to me. Let me hear some sound effects. Get the car sideways do something. Put it on a race track. I dont want to see a car casually driving through a forest and some leaves rustling in the wind. Thats horrible. Make me remember the commercial.

Lexus has already made a commercial with the IS on a wet race track straight ways and corners.
Just saw it the other day (In Canada).
