Play the game
Everyone knows that the whole car buying process is a game... it's how well you play the game that will get you the best deal. The $4000 price difference between the invoice and msrp on the is = room for negotiation, no matter what the dealer tells you.

I e-mailed 11 dealers all over Chicagoland telling each of them what exactly I wanted and that I am ready to buy today. I was asking $1500 off of MSRP and none of them not only would give me $1500, none of them even wanted to negotiate anything. I responded that they were willing to let a 100% guaranteed sale walk and they all responded by saying, "yes". Goes to show you that car dealers are such greedy bastages that they won't even talk about a discount of any proportion.
Honestly, if a dealer offered you the above car for 40459 please let us know which dealer that was and in what state. I would be willing to fly there and drive back (depending on how far it was).

Won't you at least tell us the state? Please....

Right now the SI 350 comes packaged two ways in Chicago:
1) basic premium pkg with 18's
2) loaded
That's it. I'm looking for an IS 350 with the basic premium pkg, 18's and nav (no ML) and it can't be found in the Chicago. The nav is only coming with ML and the nav/ML combo is only coming with the sport pkg or premium luxury pkg. It really bites the big one.
Does anyone know which segment of the US the NAV comes without ML?

Yeah with 11 dealerships here in Chicago there is just to much competition for the price not to drop slighty.
Also with the winter months coming up I think it might push potential buyers away until the springtime.
I hope this assumption holds true because I will have a hard time spending 36K for a new ISRWD now and then six months later hear that I could've bought a new IS350 decently loaded for the same price.
