You won't get what you want delivered immediately of course, but at least it beats the hell out of Lexus.com's stupid "Build Your IS" thing that keeps you trying different zip codes for a certain package or configuration. Especially useful if you plan to bring your wish list to a dealer for a custom order, or you can order directly from carsdirect.com of course.
Edmunds.com is probably okay too but it won't remind you of package conflicts at all. Carsdirect.com is much more advanced in this regard.
BTW, fully optioned, the new IS costs $47,685 including destination charge.

FYI carsdirect is limited to what their host dealer offers. The host dealer is limited to what their region office allocates to them.

I agree, CarsDirect gets their cars from dealers. You can build your own car on the website, but it doesn't mean it exists. You might be waiting a looong time, longer than placing a special order directly with a dealer. I do like CarsDirect as they have the most accurate pricing/invoice prices, better than Edmunds or any of the other ones out there. When I was in sales, I used to reference them all the time to see what the market was.
