Hehe, when you post something in all red text, that mean sarcasm; completely the opposite of what was written. Don't you guys do that here? It's that way on all the other online forums I'm on.

Default You have a free Lexus Personalized Settings....

visit so do it during that. There are about 15 other settings you can alter to your liking. The factory defaults are pretty good already so some folks never change anything.

A head on collision would imply someone is driving on the wrong side of the road. WTF does that have to do with DRL's?
BTW I drive a 00 ES and DRL's are always on. I don't think I have a choice but even if I did they'd still be on.
Kensteele we don't use red text we use this guy

There are plenty of two-lane highway or even unmarked country roads where people tend to drive toward the middle of the road, especially when there's no shoulder. DRL's are most useful in this setting to warn the oncoming traffic.

Default who will change the daytime running lights setting?

My salesman says that DRL's won't be turned-off by any dealer, as it is against a Lexus regulation for all new car dealers.

Is he blowing smoke?

Or are there independent service shops with the Lexus scan tool needed to re-set the DRL to off? . Anyone know of any such shops around L.A.?

Tnx

Where do I find the list of personalized settings and are all dealerships aware of this feature? TIA

Personalized settings lists for various models are in pdf files linked on this page on the lexus.com website -- the link for the IS is still for the IS300. . I'd guess that the GS list is closer to what you can do on the 2nd generation IS.

All dealers must be aware of these. . Whether they want to bother to change things for you is a different question.

You're welcome for the link. . You obviously missed my qualifying statement:

Ha, Your right I sure did, my apologies. Will be cool when they update that so we consumers can let the saleman know it is possible to program personalized settings.

I remember when I picked up my brand new 99 E46 and the saleman went over the checklist in front of me what I wanted as my personal setting, one was if I wanted daytime lights on or off, or if I wanted the doors to lock when I take off, etc...but there was a whole list he went over which was cool.

The personalized settings for the IS250/350 are printed in the owner's manual (pages 51-53) and are available online through My Lexus at Lexus.com.
