Default SPEED (R&T) Comparo: 1) 330i 2) G35 3) IS350

SPEED (R&T) Comparo

1) 330i
2) G35
3) IS350

The 330i and G35 were both 6MT.

0-60, 1/4 mile:

G35: 5.8s, 14.4s
IS350: 6.0s, 14.5s
330i: 6.2s, 14.9s

60-0:

G35: 116 ft
330i: 124 ft
IS350: 128 ft

They said that the rankings were heavily biased toward sport and performance, and would have been very different with luxury factored in more. The IS was definitely the luxury champ.

Very strange considering Lexus had the IS350 certified by an independent firm at 5.3 seconds 0-60...

braking times are all over the map too. MT said weak tires, CD said best in class.

I particularly didn't like the Dunlop Sport Maxx tires the IS350 and 250 we drove back in August. I bet the better numbers were acheived by the Michelin Pilot Sport SP2's the other cars had.

I'm skeptical on those figures. Unless they had the car packed with bricks in which case I would more readily accept those numbers. I would think, unless there is no traction at all, the IS is a sub-6 second car under even the most adverse circumstances.
