Long time lurker - Lots of the guys over on the edmunds.com prices paid forum are saying that their Lexus dealers are having difficulty in moving the new IS. Any one confirm this?
What do you guys mean by poor configuration? Just asking. I have not been to the dealership yet. Just want ot know what configs to expect.
Thank you.
Well there are eight IS250's at the dealer I drive by every day that have been sitting there since release. Six of them are awd and have the premium leather package ($3,600) with no moonroof, one has premium leather with a moonroof ($4,900) and one is RWD and has the $9,600 sport package (loaded). The ones with no moonroof are priced @ msrp. The two with the moonroof are between $2-5k over msrp. I'm sure IS sales are respectable with people putting in orders, but around here the ones on the lots seem to be staying on the lots due to poor packages (the 5k package with no moonroof is pretty weak), or the sticker is just too high.
The other local dealer has 10 IS250's and all but one are AWD with NAV, and they're priced in the 55k range, which is 2k over the already whacked out msrp of 53k CAD.
As you can tell, Canada's first shipment of IS's was like 90% IS250's with AWD.
But of course Canada is a tiny market and the prices are crazy, so who knows.
