If it's a special order, it will be more like 3-4 months. I don't think anyone has received any car that was special ordered, yet.

special order pretty much means you get to "custom" make the car, instead of chosing a car that is on the lot.

Special order means you get to "custom" make the car, instead of chosing a car that is being built to Lexus' choosing.

"on the lot" never enters into it.

yes it does, it doesnt have to be just the dealer you are visitings lot. On the lot is more of a generic term meaning on the boat/other dealers lots. Thats what my dealer explained special ordering to me as, i guess i was wrong, my bad.

For my situation: I ordered the car on August 15th, but Lexus did not mass produce the IS until August 28th. As of today, I recieved an e-mail saying that my car has been loaded onto a ship in a Japanese port. Estimate date of arrival is unchanged: November 15th.

Three months for me... Long wait, but I'm getting ML and a color combo that you won't find on any dealership. It's worth it in my opinion at this time since everyone is paying close to MSRP.

If you're looking at 11/15 delivery, you must have VIN by now. Plus it's probably been at the Long Beach port for a week already.

Got the VIN, but i'm in the Philippines right now. Won't get to see the car for another week!

It should be in a Long Beach port. I really can't wait any longer...
