Well, with Solargard, they have a lifetime warranty that it won't fade and peel, crack, bubble, etc... And they said because it isn't metallic, it shouldn't have a problem with changing color anyway. I've had regular tint on my 1997 camry for 9 years now and it hasn't changed color, bubbled or anything since it was installed.

This is the first of my 10 cars that I am considering not tinting. When I tinted my GS, the tinter caused a short in the rear window switch, probably from screwing up the interior window seal. Also, for the life of the car, I had excessive road noise from the right rear door, especially during rain that the dealer attributed to the thickness of the window tint. I know the second issue is debatable, but given the inability to use metallized tint and the other problems I've had I may just leave this one alone.

I've used these guys every time for years and reccomend them highly. This is socal so there are a TON of good places, but I have good experiences with these guys...and they come to you! They are coming to my place next week to tint my is350, $180 for a full wrap...not the front window. they are out of simi valley but they will travel a good distance. they do a lot of work in santa monica. if you want the number, its in the yellow pages or you can pm me.

I'm getting ceramic tint on mine next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone consider a platinum tint? Have any pics of a platinum tint? Do they look good? Never had a platinum tint before but don't mind the glassy appearance of the tint. Thoughts...

Can anyone post some pics of the different types of tints available such as platinum tint (doesn't necessarily have to be on the IS 250/350 but it would be nice). I didn't realize there were different types of tints. If I have time tonight I will do some research and post pics myself becuase I am sure there are others at CL that this is somewhat new to them as it is with me.

I purchased my last car, BMW, with the windows already tinted. The tint seemed to mess with the radio reception. If you have tinted the windows in your IS, did it make any difference in your radio reception?

That was probably metallic tint.

When I got metallic tint on my BMW, my AM radio reception got messed up. That's why I'm going with ceramic especially since I have nav now.
