Has anyone seen this color in person on an IS or have a pic. Trying to figure out what type of blue it is...I don't want the type that looks purple in certain lights.

The color in that picture is way off...its more like a dark royal blue color.

i ordered an AWD IS250 and hope to get it some time next week. I'll post pics up as soon as possible. i have seen a pic of blue onyx from a board member here. simply do search and im sure itll pop up. club members name i think was wolverine and it looked really sweet.

Lexus did not do a great job with their web site when it came to the color of their vehicles. I think they could have done a better job getting the colors more true.

I drove the blue onyx on a sunny day. The car was clean. We took it to a vacant parking lot. As we walked around the car it was a beautiful dark blue and then in another moment it looked black.

Based on our time with the car we decided that if we purchase the car it will be black onyx. I never saw any purple hues. It was dark blue or it was black. Two colors in one.

The IS350 tested in the October 2005 issue of Car & Driver...or was that Sept 05? Whichever one the comparo was with the IS350 placed 2nd behind the 3 series, the IS350 in the photos were Blue Onyx.

The smokey granite mica looks like a very dark green on the lexus site.

any decisions based on Lexus.com. Club Lexus photos shared are very accurate and superior to the BYO color palate. The brochures are sometimes off on the colors and wood samples. The GS birdseye maple doesn't look like the Golden Birdseye that is used in the RX, GX and LS models.

The Blue Onyx Pearl will most likely NOT look purple. I have a Blue Meridien Pearl GX and it DOES look purple in some light. The photo posted by cooney from the gallery is the photo I took at the ClubLexus East private test drive event at Castle on the Hudson. That is the best representation of the color - it will actually look black at certain times, otherwise a nice deep shade of blue.
