never heard of 9006XS so I searched:

"9006XS (straight back) type headlight bulbs
9006 (90 degree elbow) type headlight bulbs

Just the type of connector. Factory bulbs are the straight type, but you can get either one to fit."

Google

Question Bulb list for new IS250

I'm seeing a lot of different info in this thread on the types of bulbs used in the IS.

My manual says:

Foglights: 9004, 55 Watts. The chart also refers to Type F, which at the bottom of the chart means HB4. HB4 is another index code for 9004 I believe. Thus a 9004 bulb and an HB4 Bulb are the same fitment.

Parking lights: 168 Wedge bulbs, 5 watts. The equivalent size is 194 or W5W I believe.

Highbeams: 9005, 65 Watts. Equivalent size is HB3.

Lowbeams: H11, 55 Watts.

There is no reference to 2006 bulbs in my manual.

My IS250 AWD has the HID and AFS lights, but the system is only on the lowbeams and gives a nice bluish light. The highbeam bulb and foglight bulb are conventional halogen bulbs, which are yellowish, and look dorky with the blue HIDs. I plan on replacing he Highbeam, Foglight, and parking bulb with some bluish bulbs so they will all match!

As long as you get 9006 and NOT 9004 for your fog lights you will be ok. It is a typo in the manual.

I have no idea what the IS bulbs are but HB4 is 9006 not 9004. I know cuz my BMW uses HB4 or 9006 bulbs for the fog light also.

Dang... so it sounds like it'll be hard to get to the low beams.. i want to change out both the low beam and fogs to Sylvania Silverstars...

For the passenger side you'll need to pull back the black plastic cover under the fog light or wheel well to gain access.
Ok I am trying to get access to the fogs right now and its a pain in the butt! How do you get the plastic wheel well out? I've unscrewed everything and took out all the pegs that i can find but i cant seem to get the wheel well out to get to the fogs.

I know about the access cover but the pasenger side doesnt have it. Any other hints?
