Isnt the proper way to drive in dense fog to use parking lamps and just the fog lights? I thought that was the rule / law in Europe... Doesnt make sense how Toyota disabled that on our IS...

Does anybody have HID's that are more than 6000k. I'm dying to see how some real blue lights look on the IS.
And also what is the correct configuration for the Daytime Running Lights???

So Any How, Any One That Said They Could Replace There Fog Lamp Bulbs In
Five Minutes Must Have No Care For There Fender And Plastic Wheel Well Covers
I Myslef Being A Mercedes Tech Found It Pretty Nerve Recking Prying My Wheel Well Out Agianst The Fender
Took Me About On Hour Untill I Got Everything To Lie Back Flat And Look Like
Factory Again
During This I Had The Vechile On A Lift And Also Took The Lower Engine Panel Off Wow Thats Alot Of Screws
I Thought And Sl With About 8 Screws Was Alot To Do An Oil Change I Count About 16 Or So Scews Wow
Any One Who Does Replace There Fog Lamp Bubls Be Careful And Take Ur Time
It Will Be Worth It

My manual says:
Foglights: 9004, 55 Watts. The chart also refers to Type F, which at the bottom of the chart means HB4. HB4 is another index code for 9004 I believe. Thus a 9004 bulb and an HB4 Bulb are the same fitment.
Parking lights: 168 Wedge bulbs, 5 watts. The equivalent size is 194 or W5W I believe.
Highbeams: 9005, 65 Watts. Equivalent size is HB3.
Lowbeams: H11, 55 Watts.
There is no reference to 2006 bulbs in my manual.
My IS250 AWD has the HID and AFS lights, but the system is only on the lowbeams and gives a nice bluish light. The highbeam bulb and foglight bulb are conventional halogen bulbs, which are yellowish, and look dorky with the blue HIDs. I plan on replacing he Highbeam, Foglight, and parking bulb with some bluish bulbs so they will all match!

HB4 is NOT the same as 9004. HB4 = 9006, and 9004 = HB1. The bulb type (F, HB4) in the manual is correct, however the 9004 is a typo. The bulb is a 9006, aka HB4 bulb.

Guys,
according to the dealer's service manual the entire front bumper needs to be removed in order to change the fog light bulbs. I suppose you can do it the way many have suggested, but that will explain the inner fender liner not flattening out for a while. Gonna try this myself this weekend. Will try to take pics and will try to scan and post the instructions.

Nope, I didnt have any problems with the wheel well not flattening out at all. it just went back into shape instantly... But what did happen is I left a crease... so just be careful if you see it folding up try pulling another way. It can be done.

Took me all about 10 min to change out my fog light bulbs...1 bolt, 2 plastic clip type screws...pull the lining out a couple inches...stick your hand in and get the bulb...turn the wheels for easier access...went back into place easily...no creases, bends, nothing...the plastic lining is only pulled out for 30sec to a min to change the bulb then you put it back in place...
looking at the turn signals though...that looks a little tougher and I haven't had time to do it yet...thinking you have to go from the bottom like posted on the other threads or take off the bumper...
