Default Adding Parking Sensors

Hi. I'm new to this forum and just purchased my first Lexus, the IS 250 AWD last week! I've been babying this car all week. Gave it a good 2 hour wash and wax job last Saturday and every time I go out to the garage I just love to stare at it. Ah the feeling of a new car. Anyways, I was wondering if it would be possible to get the parking assist installed from the dealer? I'm in CO and no cars come with park assist here. I figure it would be a good option to have since the parking spaces at my workplace are so darn tight (I know, scared to death of door dings, in fact drive around for 10 min. looking for a good place to park). I know they have aftermarket ones, but I would like something more integrated. I wonder if there's a harness you plug in so that the icon shows on the dash. If that doesn't work, anyone know of any good aftermarket sensors?

Hmm I asked the salesman the same thing, and he told me that if i wanted the Lexus Parking Control, i'd have to add it in, but alas no cars here on West Coast have that (at least in the 350's I believe). He told me either custom order, or do an aftermarket job. Bah!

Default Park Assist is a factory option...

Here in the East we get it on just about every version of the IS. There are after market systems but I cringe at the cost ($1,000) and warranty issues.

Just another effect of the bizarre alocations Lexus decided on. If anyone at Lexus corporate is reading this - how did this possibly happen? ML only in the midwest? All cars in the Northeast have park assist but none of the ones in Colorado do? I know Lexus is a smart company and usually very responsive to their customers... But I really can't see how this makes any sense.

Default Lexus leaves the option packages up to...

the dealer committees in each region. Sort of Democratic but regionally inconsistent. If you happen to get Navigation then you get a backup camera which is helpful to judge how close your rear bumper is to another bumper etc. and you get Bluetooth. I recommend this option to everyone.
