Default Did your smart keys come with leather covers?

Before the car hit the street, there were pictures of the smart keys with leather covers.

Mine did not come with those.

How about you folks?

Yep. They're in the back of the glove box in a little plastic bag.

Does your leather sleeve not quite fit around your remote key? Mine seems slightly off... Maybe I just have to jam it in there farther.

yeah it takes a litle push to get them in. You might have to work on it a little to work the leather

I guess I am going to have to call Jill, my salesperson, and ask for them. I neither got them nor could I find them in the glove box.
p.s. Singha, nice color choice!

It doesn't look that bad... pretty standard leather case... if you don't like the diagram about how to use the start button, you can flip it over. On the other side it is just black with a white Lexus logo. (Have to credit my gf with this discovery - she was like, "Maybe if someone finds your keys, you don't also want to show them how to start your car..." haha)

I just hopped on our intranet and read through the PDI manual for the IS (all 86 or so pages of it) and the leather covers should definitely be in the back in the glove compartment, they're put there at the factory in Tahara, so either they ran out of leather over in Tahara City or the tech that did the PDI on your car took them out for some reason and didn't put them back. Hunt him down like a wild dog.

Ooh, I'm dying to get one for my key fob. If he doesn't want it, mind sending it to me?

the leather case comes in handy, esp if you have the remote on a key chain with other keys--prevents scratches.

For people who need these or just want extras the dealer should be able to order them at about 10 bucks according to our intranet. They come from (evidently) the Materials Distribution Center in case your dealer doesn't see them in a parts listing... they are officially called "Key Gloves".
