Experience with MD Dealers??
OK, so has anyone actually bought a car from Lexus of Rockville or Silver Spring? From this thread so far, I've gotten this: Pohanka good, Lindsay bad.
Surely with all the people in DC and the economy we've had for the last 5 or 10 years, there must be a lot of Lexus' bought in this area??!!! I can't drive anywhere without seeing one. And they can't all have come from NoVA!

Funny!
Ok, so i know this is a little off the topic but...
if you go to lexus of silver spring's website and look up any of the IS's they have, they have an 'image not available' default graphic...look closely, its an e39 bmw...

Looks like thier 3rd party contractor might have a sense of humor.

OH While I was at Lindsay, they did have a white IS350 with Black leather.
Very minimal options,
Perforated seats, Wood trim, Park assist, 18s, trunk mat.
If anyone in NOVA wants that car, its there. See if you can get a discount.

I mean, I can go to Pohanka for service even if I buy from Lindsay, and Pohanka won't treat me as inferior to their own customers, right? (And actually, Lindsay is a lot closer to me than any other dealer so maybe I'll just go there.) My sales person did say they won't refund my deposit until they sell my car. But I wouldn't think it would be too hard to sell an IS 350 in SGM/Black with ML, Nav and a spoiler.

Doh, now I dont feel so special. I got about 1K off =( And I had to work hard as hell, just to get the center console replaced to black. Although that darn console lid cost $300
I think the only reason they didnt go any lower on my GFM IS350, is because they knew its hard as heck to find on the North east on a 350.

Actually Pohanka is open on some Sundays. We went to Pohanka just to look at the cars again on the lot a few Sundays ago and the sales department was open. I asked our salesman about it and he said they were open on the last Sunday of the month. I guess they need to make their numbers.
Anyway - we delt with Shane there. Special ordered an SMG with black interior AWD 250 with pretty much everything except the radar cruise control. We were told 3 to 4 months delivery. So we have an early spring arrival. Can't wait.

I bought my RX from Lindsay Lexus in 2002. I don't know if the sales person makes a lot of difference (I don't buy cars very often), but Mr. Tom Lane of Lindsay seemed to be relatively honest and good to work with when I got my car there.
[Perhaps a little off topic, but...] My interaction with Linday and Pohanka has been mainly with the service departments for routine service. Both service departments are very much overly expensive (to be polite). The half-way honest service advisor I found at Pohanka was gone by the next time I went back for service. Right now I'm in the mode of getting my major routine service when I'm visiting down in Florida and doing the minor stuff myself. I used to go to Toyota of Alexandria for oil changes, but they have recently been actively trying to make Lexus-owners feel very unwelcome.
